Functions

Norsonic uses the term Function to denote the combination of RMS (or Peak) detection with certain time constant and certain spectral Weighting networks involving measurement duration whenever relevant.

To form a function you combine a data type with a time constant; Fast, Slow or Impulse and a spectral Weighting networks (A, C, Z), octave or third octave band frequency analysis.

Statistical functions can also be selected here.

Please remember that all ProfileA, ProfileB or Moving data/functions require an extra action in addition to checking the tick box square-check-solid in order to be uploaded to NorCloud. These are marked with a cloud cloud-arrow-up-solid beside the tick box. If the cloud is light gray, data are not uploaded to NorCloud. If the cloud is blue, data is uploaded to NorCloud. Click on the cloud to toggle it.

The function list will adapt to the selection you make for Network, Time Constant and Statistics.

The functions are based on the following data types:

SPL

The instantaneous Sound Pressure Level

Lmax

The Maximum Sound Pressure Level time weighted

Lmin

The Minimum Sound Pressure Level time weighted

Leq

The Integrated Averaged SPL

LE

The Sound Exposure Level

Lpeak

The Maximum Peak Level

FFT

FFT requires instrument application version 5.0.1711 or newer. The FFT values will be saved along with global values, once per hour in NorCloud. When enabling FFT, you also can choose between high and low density, i.e., 2.92 and 1.46 Hz resolutions. This will appear under the Filter heading in the sound setup.
